Insurance Companies & Politians

Why do you think it's a law that you have to wear a seat belt?
Why do you think the helmet law was enacted for cyclists?
Why is the price of tobacco products gone crazy, and why has the government ban smoking?

The Michigan Smoking Ban Stinks!

The Michigan Smoking Ban has caused we adults who smoke to literally become prisoners in our own homes. I personally have not eaten out other than fast food, since this law was enacted. I have visited one bar once, and was asked to leave because of smoking. I use to belong to the Eagles Club, but they decided to follow suit...of course we members weren't asked. I have started a petition (see link) and I'd like any of you to sign it. I'm not asking that non-smokers have to put up with smoke if they don't want to. I'm just asking that we have a choice, both establishment owners, and patrons.

Damm Right!

We could consider voting out ALL the Democrats and Republicans and vote in candidates from the Independent, Green or Libertarian parties. These people, although without the financial backing of the "Big Two," may just have superior qualification and even some morals and ethics. Who knows?

Not Democrat, Not Republican, Not Independent...
It's called the "PISSED OFF PARTY" (or POP).
This party is dedicated to vote every incumbent out of office in the next elections.
If you're Democrat, vote Democrat. Just don't vote for the incumbent.
If you're Republican, vote Republican. Just don't vote for the incumbent.

We need to send a message to all politicians, that we're tired of their B.S.
If the country votes out all the incumbents, the new incoming politicians will get the message..

It's pretty simple. Nobody needs to change parties and lets face it, there's plenty of blame to spread around.
A few good politicians will lose their job but they probably have better retirement and insurance then 95% of the American public.
You've had to struggle for the last 5 years. Some of you have lost your job and may be working in some other sector just to feed your family.
I guarantee you, none of them will suffer like this country has.

If you like whats going on and think this is a bad idea, delete this.
But if you're fed up and think this is a good idea, then pass this E-mail on.
If you really think this has legs, then a website and a blog could help get the word out.

To All 535 voting members of the Legislature; it is now official you are ALL corrupt morons:

a.. The U.S. Post Service was established in 1775. You have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke.

b.. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.

c.. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.

d.. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor" and they only want more.

e.. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.

f.. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39 years to get it right and it is broke.

g.. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every "government service" you have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

Folks, keep this circulating. It is very well stated.

Hello World

I'm about to go mad, it's March and if it snows again, I think I'm tear my hair out!
This has been a cold winter and we have finally had a break in the last few days, but I know March in Michigan.

A couple of months ago, I was roaming around looking for cigarettes...and found Pall Mall Blue super-slims. I liked them and have continued to buy them. Today I had to buy a pack of reg. at the local store, and I felt like I was smoking a tampon. I mean do you pull them out of the pack by a string???? It was weird!

I'm waiting for the government to pass another law that takes more of our so called freedoms away. Soon breathing will either be taxed, or outlawed.

Congress Must Confront The Lawless Supreme Court Corporate Personhood Decision
By any fair legal definition, the decision [PDF of full court opinion] yesterday by a gang of 5 right wing judicial outlaws on our Supreme Court to give corporations unlimited influence over our elections, in failing to even bother to distinguish between domestic and foreign owned corporations, and in knowingly leaving America vulnerable to the latter BY their ruling, constitutes nothing less than an act of TREASON against the people of the United States.

Corporations are NOT the people, and nothing in the Constitution or any amendment thereto fairly lends itself to any such interpretation. It was only an act of judicial and intellectual fraud yesterday by which any contrary holding could emerge. The Supreme Court 5 have not just made law from the bench, they have fabricated Constitution from the bench. And while other decisions may have nibbled around the edges of this patently dubious proposition, in one gulp this disreputable majority now presumes to swallow the thing whole hog.

Well here it is....Christmas 2008...we have a big fat mess to deal with, but what I'd like to say here and now, with all of these "bailouts" the first group to have to pay is the Bush Administration. He and his crew of thieves have managed to put this country in such deep debt, that he, as a Commander & Chief, has failed. Should we pay anyone that has failed in his mission? I say no! Make Bush and ALL of his Administration pay back to the American People EVERY dime we have paid them while in office! Further, if you pay any attention to what I've said, you will vote, insist, demand that the Bush Administration be put on trial, impeached, and incarcerated for crimes against this country!!! Sit on your ass and die....stand and live to not just bitch, but act!

Obama, President Elect

I'm very glad that Obama won, but boy I don't envy the mess he's got to deal with. I think he will put together a sensible cabinet, and hopefully he will get some important issues dealt with. I would not as a citizen excuse Bush & Cheney for anything. I'd like to take a look at their net worths especially since they've been in office. A firing squad is too good for the both of them

I've noticed that people with money don't want it just going to anybody...they want their name stamped on every dollar they give away, or are forced to give. They don't see things in the same light that I do. If I give something to someone, it's face to face usually, and it probably is without strings. If I give, I give. If I buy, I buy. Simple as that. I don't need medals, shrines, or churches following me around with a donation plate. I just hate seeing people go without basic things that make this life livable.

Toleration and tolerance are terms used in social, cultural and religious contexts to describe attitudes and practices that prohibit discrimination against those practices or group memberships that may be disapproved of by those in the majority. Conversely, 'intolerance' may be used to refer to the discriminatory practices sought to be prohibited. I think the people of the US have become so intolerant of everything from soup to nuts. You can't smoke, drink, cop a buzz, or drive. You can't say certain words, and you sure as hell can't do most of the above in front of anyone. You can't show enthusiasm, and trust me if you do, you are subject to enforcement of "quiet your ass down" procedures by the powers that be, and it doesn't matter how old or young you are. You are subject to approval or disapproval from a long, long list of criteria. Yes, I am aware that, drinking and driving kills people....I wonder if those people were going to die anyway? Drugs ruin lives....especially if you're caught with them and do a stiff 20 in prison. Smoking tobacco is a no-no-no. It's the newest no-no that's hitting everywhere. Can't smoke in public places...even if it's outside..yup there's states that have those laws. You know, the second-hand smoke deal. Never mind we're breathing air in the first place that is so polluted from factories, cars....but nope you are not allowed to pollute yourself around anyone. This all just makes too damn much sense to me. You are no longer an individual, and there is no thinking like one either. (well you can, just as long as you don't get caught).
I'm hoping in the next eight years, some of this bullshit will lighten up a bit. Whew, these fucking Republicans are such assholes, and anyone who wants to mimic their behavior makes me ill.

The Democratic Team v The Republicans

Here we are at two weeks to blast off. As usual, the Republicans have GOT to come up with something, and of course it has been circulating....Obama is an undercover terrorist, with terrorist connections. I even had a guy send me a whole list of things that Muslim extremist have done over the past decade, ie, blown up this and that...and of course right in the middle of it is Obama. No, I won't pass garbage like that on, I dumped it in the shitter right where it belongs. Not only does Palin lack experience, but I don't think she would have an easy time at gaining respect amongst our allies should she be forced into the Presidency. Oh, and let's not forget Obama is a "socialist". That's funny...we just gave Wall Street 700m to bail their claims that the "sky is falling". There's something about that that spells socialism, not to mention the U.S. has been supporting railroads, banks, for how long now???....another form of socialism. It's ok for corporate America to get socialistic standards, but holy shit if a single individual gets something considered socialist, like free health care...wham...we are the verge of Communism...yea right. BTW, all you Michigan voters, make sure you vote YES on Proposal 1. Medical Marijuana. It's ok for the drug companies to make, supply and sell drugs at bloated prices, but hell no on the marijuana do...since it can be grown in your own home...make sense?....nope. It never does. McCain is anti-abortion, but supports stem cell research...where does this nit think stem cell research comes from. Truly, I'm against abortion as a means of birth control, absolutely! I've watched a low-life member of my own family have at least six abortions, and it made me utterly sick to my stomach. When the bitch finally did decide to go full term, she failed at that one and went on a crack binge bringing in a six-week preemie addicted to crack. She was the one who should have been aborted, but I guess at this point since she's almost 40 years old, that's a little late..although firing squad isn't...hmmm.
So back to supporting medical marijuana, if someone is sick and it helps them, then what the hell is wrong with that? Further, I'd much rather legalize it, even though I'm not a smoker, I see nothing wrong with it.

Thursday, September 25, 2008

I really didn't think much about it until I was sitting in one of the local watering holes, and then someone said it! "I'd rather have that fucking bitch from Alaska (it was obvious he didn't even know Palin's name), then have a fucking nigger runnin this country". No, I'm not going to hyphenate the b,f, or n words. It needs to be said right out loud for everyone to hear. It's the good 'ole boy system...male, white, and in charge. That's what a lot of folk in this neck of the woods are for, and many other places too. These same people would go back to "lynching" days if it weren't for a good many of us that wouldn't put up with it. Let it be known that these same folks really have no use for Palin either, but they're counting on the fact that McCake will make it through at least one term, and then by hook or CROOK they'll come up with something besides, black or female, or lord forbid both! Many women out there will vote Republican this go-round, not because they're squarely behind the issues, but because that's what daddy or hubby has taught them. The current econ crisis should be enough for anyone to look at the present situation and not want more of it. Some thing's gotta give here, and I'm not talking about the American People...our backs are just about broken.

We Need The Change Barack and Joe Can Bring

From my first days back in the early '70s when I became an anti-Viet Nam protester in Ann Arbor, Michigan to a feminist that absolutely wouldn't sit down for the bullshit of "it's a man's world", did I ever dream I'd live long enough to see a black man run for the highest office in the world. After all, civil rights were tied to the women's rights movement as surely as the sun rose in the East. We then were referred to as "Hippies", and I wore the badge proudly. Now, I proudly wear the "Obama for President" button, and sticker, knowing full well that if nothing else Obama & Biden couldn't possible do any worse for this country than that babboon G.W. Bush. Those of you thinking about voting for McCake should take a look at what a mirrored face of Bush he really is.

Just too damm disgusting!

Have you ever heard of aerial hunting? It's a brutal practice. Wolves are shot from low-flying aircraft or chased to exhaustion, then killed at point-blank range.

Governor Sarah Palin, the Republican nominee for Vice President, promotes this barbaric practice, exploiting a loophole in the Federal Airborne Hunting Act to allow private wolf killers to shoot down wolves using aircraft. We have to get the word out about this!

You're Going to Vote For Who????

Some of McCain’s Missed Opportunities on Energy

Sen. John McCain missed two critical energy votes on H.R. 6, The Energy Independence and Security Act, in December 2007. These votes – on December 7th and 13th – would have stopped debate and allowed a vote on an energy bill that included critical tax incentives for renewable energy sources – a bill to strengthen national security, lower energy costs, reduce global warming, grow our economy and create new jobs, and increase American energy independence. These votes were critical to making a $21 billion investment in clean, renewable energy and energy efficiency, including a $3,000 tax credit to help working families afford fuel-efficient plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles. On the morning of December 13th, Sen. John McCain was the only United States Senator to not vote on this measure. The cloture vote needed sixty votes to pass. It failed, 59-40 and Senate Republicans forced the tax credits to be stripped from the larger energy bill in order to protect $13 billion in subsidies for Big Oil. Charlie Just About Says It All

545 People
By Charlie Reese
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them. Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits? Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don't propose a federal budget. The President does.
You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don't control monetary policy, The Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine Supreme Court justices - 545 human beings out of the 300 million - are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered but private central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a Congressman or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall.
No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it. The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.
Who is the speaker of the House? She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility.
I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.
When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.
If the Marines are in IRAQ, it's because they want them in IRAQ.
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.
Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.
Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like 'the economy,' 'inflation' or 'politics' that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.
Those 545 people and they alone, are responsible.
They and they alone, have the power.
They and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses - provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.
We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

Four Presidents

They finally made it to the Emerald City and went to find the Great Wizard.

' What brings the 4 of you before the great Wizard of Oz? '

Jimmy Carter stepped forward timidly and said:
'I've come for some courage.'

'No Problem!' said the Wizard. 'Who's next? '

Richard Nixon stepped forward,
'Well, I think I need a heart.'

'Done!' says the Wizard.
'Who comes next before the Great and Powerful Oz?'

Up stepped George Bush and said,
'I'm told by the American people that I need a brain.'

'No problem!' said the Wizard. 'Consider it done.'

Then there was a great silence in the hall.
Bill Clinton is just standing there, looking around, but he doesn't say a word.

Irritated, the Wizard finally asks,
'Well, what do you want?'

Wild Pigs and Free Corn

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: The Working Class
There was a Chemistry professor in a large college that
had some Exchange students in the class. One day while the class was
in the lab the Prof noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept
rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt.
The professor asked the young man what was the matter.
The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been
shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying
to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist
In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and
asked a strange question. He asked,
'Do you know how to catch wild pigs?'
The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line.
The young man said this was no joke. 'You catch wild
pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the
ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free
corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one
side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to
the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another
side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You
continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in
the last side. The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to
come through the gate to eat the free corn, you slam the gate on them
and catch the whole herd.
Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run
around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go
back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have
forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept
their captivity.
The young man then told the professor that is exactly
what he sees happening to America. The government keeps pushing us
toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in
the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for
unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to
plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. while we continually
lose our freedoms, just a little at a time.
One should always remember 'There is no such thing as a
free Lunch!' Also, 'You can never hire someone to provide a service
for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.'
If you see that all of this wonderful government 'help'
is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America, you might
want to send this on to your friends. If you think the free ride is
essential to your way of life then you will probably delete this
email, but God help you when the gate slams shut!

Well, I agree with most of all of that, except if there's no "free
lunch" for we working class Americans, then the "free lunch" for the
rest of the non-working politicians should stop as well. The gate is
going to slam not because we are used to the free corn, but because we
are so compliant with stupid laws, and used to sitting on our asses
and letting these bastards in office get away with their criminal
activity against the American people and our Constitution.

Lady Kathryn: Dear Mr. President

Lady Kathryn: Dear Mr. President

Dear Mr. President

"Dear Mr. President"

(feat. Indigo Girls)

Dear Mr. President
Come take a walk with me
Let's pretend we're just two people and
You're not better than me
I'd like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly

What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street

Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep

What do you feel when you look in the mirror

Are you proud?

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry

How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye

How do you walk with your head held high

Can you even look me in the eye

And tell me why

Dear Mr. President
Were you a lonely boy
Are you a lonely boy
Are you a lonely boy
How can you say
No child is left behind
We're not dumb and we're not blind
They're all sitting in your cells
While you pave the road to hell

What kind of father would take his own daughter's rights away
And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay
I can only imagine what the first lady has to say
You've come a long way from whiskey and cocaine

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry

How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye

How do you walk with your head held high

Can you even look me in the eye

Let me tell you bout hard work
Minimum wage with a baby on the way
Let me tell you bout hard work
Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away

Let me tell you bout hard work
Building a bed out of a cardboard box
Let me tell you bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
You don't know nothing bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work

How do you sleep at night

How do you walk with your head held high

Dear Mr. President

You'd never take a walk with me

Would you

You will find within my links a page that will direct you to your county if you would like to become active in overthrowing the illegal Child Protective Service by becoming a member in a class action against them:

It's too bad, because what we are talking about is Child Protective Services and their abuses. The Agency does and could be a God-send for many children who need protection. I think many of us have witnessed situations where abusive and negligent parents need to be called on the carpet for their crimes against their kids. I speak of the crack-heads who get pregnant and continue using while pregnant, thus bringing into the world premature, and sickly children; parents who expose their children to indecent behavior and persons that are known sexual offenders. There are children that are nothing more than a paycheck for the lazy and opportunists. So, in essence, I do think that CPS has a place in this society, but again being a government agency they do abuse their powers.

Many parents have been stripped of their God-given rights as parents to bring up their own children. Keeping in mind that the more cases these bastard CPS workers get, the more job security for them, and the foster care system. How do we sort out the children that need help from children and parents who are being abused by the system?

My First Great Question

I have a question for Madonna, who made her fame and fortune here in the USA from the beginning......starting in New York City from Bay City, Michigan

Why did you have to go to the other side of the world to adopt a poor little black boy? Wasn't there any available here in the USA?

So often I've wondered how some Americans could get caught up in adopting foreign children when right here in our country, there are kids who grow up with no chances, no education, and no hope. Yet to put even more of a spotlight on these grotesque decisions, limelighters like Madonna, Angelina Jolie, and the like stand on the world stage and to me scream...I'm a traitor to all American Children!!!.........

Young, Homeless, and in America

Amazingly enough Detroit, which is just down the road from where Madonna grew up, has 7% unemployment. Bet the souls out of work in her own state could have used some of that $3m to help their kids.

About Me

My photo
I'm many things...before my daughter died, I was a mom of two. Thank God I still have my Kathy. Since she has given me two grandchildren, now I'm a grandmother, a sister, daughter and a friend. I love many and have lovED many. I'm settling down now into my retirement....and my favorite pastime...research, activism, and photos. I am very much a Liberal, and that word to me means "Live and Let Live". I pretty much don't give a damn if anyone likes or dislikes what I have to say. If you want to comment, then go ahead please do.

Don't Sit On Your Ass & Do Nothing

I've always been a believer in change. It's inevitable, and you might as well deal with it. This particular blog is designated to just that. Change and Repair.
We have things going on in this government that we ought not just sit on our asses and take. If we want to live in this country and call ourselves free, then we better get busy and get free.

Come One, Come All

This is an invite to make comments, voice your opinions, or make suggestions. I don't care what you want to talk about, just remember that this blog is about activism. So c'mon tell me what you think, whatcha want to do about it, and when
